Under the Law this is a must for all businesses.
|Date:||Wednesday 4 October 2017|
|Time:||0830 - 1130|
|Venue:||London Stansted Airport|
|NOTE:||Photo ID required. Minimum age 18 years.|
This introduction session (max 10) will provide details of how relevant members of staff will able to use an extinguisher safely and effectively in the event of a fire and following a short presentation, you will have the opportunity to take part in a hands on experience of tackling a fire with the use of extinguishers on multiple live controlled fires as well as understanding the different types of exxtinguishers and their methods of operation.
Once you have had a chance to try out for yourself we encourage you to ensure the appropriate employees (max 12 per course) get booked on for a course tailored to suit your business needs and requirements using Stansted Airport's Fire & Rescue Service.
There are of course many reputable companies out there offering such training, however why not take advantage and learn from those who know first hand the risks and hazards fire can bring and let them train you and your employees on how to best avoid dangerous situations.
WHAT DOES FIRE LAW REQUIRE?
Employers must ensure that all employees are provided with adequate safety training at the time they are first employed and repeated periodically where appropriate. Training should include suitable and sufficient instruction and training on the appropriate precautions and actions to be taken by the employee in order to safeguard themselves and other relevant persons on the premises. (Taken from the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005).
UK fire legislation states that you must have a sufficient number of competent people to perform evacuation duties. All staff identified in your emergency plan that have a supervisory role if there is a fire (i.e. heads of department, fire marshals or wardens) should be given details of your fire risk assessment and receive more comprehensive training.

The Stansted Airport Fire and Rescue Service training team are qualified professional firefighters or supervisors with a wealth of knowledge and experience and consist of many graduates and members of the Institute of Fire Engineers, all of whom are qualified to QCF PTTLS Level 4.
