Following last week’s Council decision to implement business rates relief for flooded premises, we are imminently putting details of how to claim this on the website, with appropriate publicity.
Any business who has been flooded by bad weather for 1 day or more between 1 December and 31 March, and whose business has been adversely affected, is entitled to claim 3 months business rates relief.
If you are aware of any businesses who were flooded, please feel free to pass on to them a copy of the attached claim form, alternatively please let the Business Rates team know via the email address below, and we will get in touch with the business directly.

We already have a list (from Stansted Parish Council) of businesses in Stansted that were flooded, and we’ll be contacting these.
We’re putting in place similar arrangements for council tax relief for flooded houses, and will communicate this shortly.
